Once the qualifiers were done and the officials knew which teams would be competing in South Africa, they divided the teams into regions. Each of the teams in the region will play one another until one of them is declared regional champion. When all of the regions have finished playing, each of the regional champions will play one another until an eventual World Champion is declared.
